Kitchens
Why should I choose a Fronteriors kitchen?
Fronteriors offers a solution to help you create a beautiful kitchen without the hefty price tag.

Where IKEA offers unquestionable affordability, and practicality, Fronteriors offers a selection of doors, tops, sides and accessories using on-trend designs and materials to upgrade their highly functional units. The high-end materials and craftsmanship will transform basic frames into your own version of a design piece.

We pride ourselves on our craftsmanship and use only high quality HMR board and paints. You also benefit from our quick lead times and easy to assemble components.
How do I order a kitchen?
We are here to assist you with streamlining the process in a few simple steps. We made doors, side panels, fillers, plinths, and other components for IKEA’s Metod kitchen system. Your IKEA kitchen design will be the starting point. This can be done using the IKEA online kitchen planner tool or in-store with their kitchen consultants.

We offer the option to shop all Metod components online independently which is a great way to explore the options and look at prices, however you can also use our ordering service so that we can compile your shopping basket for you. This allows us to assist by checking that you have everything you need and offer advice or suggestions where applicable.

Please have a look at our How it works for kitchens here.
Can I have a look at a sample before I order?
Absolutely, sample boxes can be ordered from our website here
How do I design my kitchen with IKEA?
Make an appointment with the kitchen department at any IKEA store and pop in for a consultation. They also offer a service (redeemable against your order with them) where they come to your space to accurately measure every nook and cranney.

Alternatively, you could try your hand at using IKEA’s kitchen planning tool on their website. You could then log in with your plan on their system when you go there to place your order.

You order the IKEA frames, hinges and internal components from IKEA and IKEA will arrange with you their delivery and installation. We don’t have an affiliation with them and the Fronteriors components will be your next step.
Can you measure my space?
We do not offer a measuring service and we strongly recommend that you make sure your measurements are final and accurate before ordering your IKEA and Fronteriors components.
Which IKEA kitchen frames are your components compatible with?
We sell only the Fronteriors components (doors, sides, panels and hardware) to fit IKEA’s METOD series. You can either use your existing IKEA METOD frames or buy a new frame.
Will the fronts fit non-IKEA kitchen appliances?
The dimensions of integrated appliances tend to be standard, regardless of the brand, but it is of course essential to check that your kitchen appliances will fit within the IKEA frames when designing your kitchen with the IKEA kitchen planner tool or in consultation with their staff. You can adjust the doors to the appliances by using the hinges and/or brackets that come with the product and it is useful to know this information in advance of your installation.
Storage cabinets
Which IKEA cabinets are your components compatible with?
We sell only the Fronteriors components (doors, sides, panels and hardware) to fit IKEA’s BESTA, PAX & BILLY series. You can either use your existing IKEA frames or buy a new frame.

Shipping and delivery
Do you ship outside the UAE?
Yes we do!

Select ‘Delivery’ when placing your order and the shipping will be automatically calculated at check-out based on your location. If you have any questions regarding shipping contact us at info@fronteriors.co
How long does it take to receive an order?
Orders are manufactured and shipped from the UAE in 15-25 working days. Note that working days do not include weekends and public holidays.

Our products are made to order and lead times may differ, depending on your delivery address.
How much does delivery cost?
The delivery charges depend on the weight and size of the products you order. When you get to the shipping address on the Information page of your checkout process, you will see the shipping costs specific to the destination you specify – and depending on your location, you may have more than one option to choose from. Please note that you may be asked to pay custom duties on delivery of your order.

Any additional fees charged by the shipping company as a result of re-delivery due to the customer not being present, an incorrect address, storage fees, failure to pay duties, etc. will be the sole responsibility of the customer.

Our shipping prices cover standard deliveries to accessible locations. In the case of kitchens and/or larger palletised shipments, this would be limited to delivery to curb-side or front door of a building. With this in mind, we recommend that you plan in advance for large palletised orders in a master box to be unpacked on the curb-side or ground floor in order to be carried to their final location in individual pieces.

The carrier may apply additional fees/charges for special services based on 'complicated deliveries’ which would be payable by the customer. Complicated delivery situations are defined at the discretion of the carrier and can include, but are not limited to, rural areas, elevator/stair access, narrow or pedestrian streets in older city locations.
Can I arrange delivery for a particular day/time?
We use a third party courier to deliver our products so we are not able to specify a fixed date or time.
Can I pick up the order myself and save money on delivery costs?
We can offer Ex-works solutions for kitchens and larger projects. Please contact us at info@fronteriors.co for more information.
How will I receive my order?
Your order might ship in multiple boxes, depending on the size, weights and types of products included. You will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information when each part of your order is dispatched. Note that a signature will be required for deliveries.

Any additional fees charged by the shipping company as a result of re-delivery due to the customer not being present, an incorrect address, storage fees, failure to pay duties, etc. will be the sole responsibility of the customer.

With this in mind it, please do mention your preferred delivery date at the time of ordering so that we can adjust the production timing accordingly.
What should I do if I do not receive everything I ordered?

Send the photos and an explanation of the circumstances to Fronteriors Customer Service at info@fronteriors.co on receipt of delivery. Ensure that you keep all packaging and damaged items, as the shipping company may claim these as part of their damage investigation.
Product information
What are Fronteriors elements made of?
Our components for BESTA, BILLY and PAX have a MDF core, whereas our components for METOD have a HMR (high moisture resistant) MDF core. Both are 18mm thick and are sprayed several times for a smooth finish using a German quality paint.

The wood collection features a white oak veneer on the MDF/HMR core and is available in a natural and dark wood finish as well as the full Fronteriors colour palette. The natural and dark wood doors are treated with a clear top-coat lacquer only, whereas all other wood colours are stained with a German quality PU paint and then finished with a clear top coat lacquer.

All of the doors in the Cane collections are made with authentic cane. These materials are natural, organic in nature and imperfections in colour and consistency of the weave do occur. These are normal and are not considered to be flaws.

Which IKEA frames are your components compatible with?
We sell only the Fronteriors components (doors, tops, sides and hardware) to fit IKEA’s BESTA, BILLY, PAX and METOD series. You can either use your existing IKEA furniture or buy a new frame.

For simple questions, you may also find what you are looking for in other areas of our FAQ section or send us an email at info@fronteriors.co.
What do I need to buy from IKEA?
You will need the frames (without doors) and the associated hinges from IKEA. Our products are listed with the name of the IKEA frame included in the listing, for example CANE RADIO WEAVE DOOR FOR BESTA, so you know which IKEA series you are buying for. Be sure to check that you are buying the correct hinges to go with your frame. If you are not planning on adding our knobs or handles to your doors you can purchase push open systems from IKEA directly. For some series, these are sold with the hinge packs whilst for others, they are sold separately.

If you are shopping from our SHOP THE LOOK section, we have listed what is not included in the bundle so that you can see what you will need to purchase from IKEA separately. These items are listed with quantities.

Some of the frames we have designed are made of more than one frame. You can check out our product listings and carefully read the components it is made of before purchasing. When you purchase 2 x Besta frames, IKEA will sell them to you with the necessary screws to mount the units together.
Can I buy the IKEA frame without the door?
Yes. All of the IKEA frames we cater for can be purchased without the doors.
Is everything pre-drilled and accommodating of IKEA’s different internal components?
Yes, our doors are pre-drilled to accept the hinges needed and the drawers are pre-drilled to accept the drawer components.
Do you have pre-drilled holes for handles?
In order to give you flexibility with the handle placement we do not pre-drill the holes.
Does your hardware fit a non-IKEA furniture that I have in my home?
Our legs and leg frames are specifically designed to fit specific IKEA frames, however our handles are standard and could fit in other furniture pieces. We do however suggest that you check with us the length of the holes and other technicalities of your furniture before purchasing.
Do you provide assembly?
Fronteriors is based on a self-assembly principle and as such, we do not provide installation services. If this seems daunting, don’t stress - anyone who can assemble an IKEA piece can do it. You can find our assembly guides here.

We also have a list of trusted partners who you can reach out to for cabinet, wardrobe, and kitchen installations. Find out more here.
How do I clean my Fronteriors cabinet?
A damp cloth and luke warm water is the best way to clean your Fronteriors components. To remove oily marks and fingerprints, use a mild detergent, a solution of water and vinegar, or a dishwashing liquid, and then wipe the surface with a dry cloth to make sure there are no smudges. Harsh soaps, strong detergents , hard sponges, and vigorous scrubbing can damage the surfaces.
How do I clean my Fronteriors hardware?
Our knobs are made of brass so it's best to clean it with a damp cloth and water. You can also use a polish for brassware. For all other handles, use a damp cloth and luke-warm water. Be cautious when cleaning hardware as it is easily prone to scratches.
Are the products sensitive to environmental/temperature changes?
Please note that much like solid wood, MDF can exhibit dimensional changes as a result of changes in environment.

As such, If wood veneer and MDF isn't acclimated to the ambient relative humidity and temperature, it may expand or contract.

It is important therefore to store products on site for a minimum of 24 hours or longer in the environment in which they will be installed. To prevent the wood from undergoing natural shrinkage phenomenon, it is important to moderate the use of air conditioning or heating. If the air is too dry, the wood and painted MDF products may respond with micro-cracks on the surface. On the contrary, if the air is too saturated with humidity, they may expand.
I want to add more panels to my exiting cabinet. Is there anything I should know?
Whilst every effort is made to ensure consistent representation of our standard colours, there is a possibility that products sprayed in different batches will show a slight colour variation.

Furthermore, all painted furniture pieces are susceptible to possible discolouration over time, dependant on their specific environmental factors, like temperature, sun exposure, general wear and use, etc.

Please bear this in mind if you are considering purchasing additional components from us.
Product information for kitchens
Which IKEA frames are your components compatible with?
We sell only the Fronteriors components (doors, sides, panels and hardware) to fit IKEA’s METOD series. You can either use your existing IKEA METOD frames or buy a new frame.
Do you offer all the standard sizes that IKEA offer?
Yes, we do! We also offer a few options that IKEA don’t offer that will make your kitchen feel more custom.
Can I order a custom- sized panel?
All of the doors, sides and tops in our collection are made to fit specific IKEA frames. Unfortunately, we can not manufacture custom sizes.
Do you make custom panels?
We do not make any custom sizes, however the beauty of our concept is that you have sufficient smart components to have a kitchen that looks custom made.
Do you have glass doors for display cabinets?
We love a minimal aesthetic and prefer to hide away any clutter.
First section IKEA’s kitchens are modular, how do I know that they will fit into my space without big gaps?
The cabinet width options that IKEA offer mean that any gap 20cm or more can probably be filled with a cabinet. Here are tables of the cabinet width options (all measurements in cm):
What are filler pieces for?
They are used to fill any gaps smaller than 30cm between the cabinets and the wall. Custom / built-in
What is a cover panel?
A cover panel is used to cover space above/below an appliance when it has no function. These panels are also used at the back of the islands. Insure that you have an island assembly kit at the back of the island base cabinets.
What is the difference between a cover panel and a filler?
A filler piece is used to fill any gaps between the cabinets and the wall, whereas a cover panel is a fixed piece used on the cabinets like a façade – for example it might fill the space between your eye-level oven and the door below it.
What is a corner door?
These doors are 25cm in width and come in a pair. They are assembled adjacent to one another with hinges and work in harmony when opening the corner base unit.
What is an extended door?
Doors on the wall cabinets can are extended by 2 cm from the bottom and eliminate the need to use handles. This also gives a seamless finish.
Why are some of your doors and side panels longer than IKEA’s frame?
In the spirit of minimalism, we have designed our door for wall cabinets to be 2cm longer than the frame. The overhang negates the need for a handle and conceals the bottom of the frame and any electrical fittings you may have there. That said, we also offer all the doors in the regular size. Side panels for wall cabinets can be ordered in the length that matches your door.

Similarly, we offer our side panels for base cabinets in both regular length or our preferred style where the panel extends to the floor – 8cm longer.
Why do the filler pieces only come in 15cm and 30cm widths, what if I have a different sized gap?
These pieces are designed to be cut down to the size you need on site, have a look at our installation guide for a step-by-step breakdown.
How do I make sure that my integrated appliances fit the Fronteriors doors, will you drill the holes for me?
When it comes to the appliances, it is the customer’s responsibility to make sure that they not only fit in the allocated space but that they are installed correctly. It is industry-standard that appliances come with templates and instructions that the customer or installer should follow. For that reason, we recommend that the Fronteriors components are delivered before the IKEA and appliances are installed as they many require some the components to complete their work.
Assembly
Do you provide assembly?
Fronteriors is based on a self-assembly principle and as such, we do not provide installation services. If this seems daunting, don’t stress - anyone who can assemble an IKEA piece can do it. You can find our assembly guides here.

We also have a list of trusted partners who you can reach out to for cabinet, wardrobe, and kitchen installations. Find out more here.
How do I mount the doors, sides and tops?
Our assembly guides cover all of this in detail. You can find them here.  Any DIY enthusiast, handyman or renovation team will be able to easily assemble our components using our guides.

Keep in mind that our doors have the same pre-made holes and hinge recesses as IKEA doors so the assembly process is the same. Our sides and tops are attached using screws. For the side panels, you will use the pre-made holes on the inside of the frame and for the tops, our guides indicate the recommended placement of the screws.
What tools do I need for assembly?
You can refer to our assembly guides for a list of tools required. They vary depending on the IKEA frame you are working with, but generally just a screw-driver (manual or electric) will do the trick. In some cases, additional tools like clamps are recommended for accuracy but if you have someone to assist you, it’s not entirely necessary. If you have purchased handles it is handy to have a tape measure with you.
Returns & refunds
I have changed my mind, can I cancel my order or change the colour?
Once you paid for an order it is considered final so please review it carefully. Our products are produced to order and as such we cannot facilitate exchanges or refunds.
Do you accept returns or refunds?
Your order is considered final once placed. Because our products – including, but not limited to, doors, tops, sides, plinths, fillers, and panels - are made-to-order, we do not accept returns or offer refunds. On receipt of delivery, it is your responsibility to examine the packaging/products for any damages.

You may receive this notification if your card does not have OTP. Please get in touch with us at info@fronteiors.co.
Warranty
What is the warranty on Fronteriors components?
Our components have a 2-year warranty. As our doors and other panels do not contain any elements that can be mechanically faulty, and are subjected to strict quality control before leaving our production facility, any potential flaws should be noticeable at the time of delivery. We advise that you take the utmost care during installation as this is when the products are likely to be damaged if not handled carefully.
When opting for non-IKEA fronts will I lose the warranty for the rest of my kitchen?
As IKEA sells their kitchens as individual parts, each individual component has a 25-year warranty (cabinets and hardware). Pairing IKEA elements with other brands' products does not influence the warranty.
Are you affiliated with IKEA?
We are not affiliated or associated with IKEA in any way.
