Dutch and South African expats, Linda Dekkers and Kathryn Hawkes (better known in the industry as Live Loud Girl and House of Hawkes) are Dubai-based interior designers who met at an industry event in 2014. Both successful stylists and bloggers in their own right, these two creatives have enjoyed a supportive and collaborative working relationship that evolved effortlessly from their first encounter. Despite their distinctive individual styles, Kath and Linda share a love of design, creativity, and the amazing entrepreneurship opportunities that the UAE has afforded them.
Having supported one another’s business successes for over five years, the girls have come to rely on each other for a sort of mutual mentorship along their respective journeys in the same industry. It’s no wonder it made perfect sense to them to join forces with the creation of Fronteriors – a business idea that was born over a lunch in January 2019. With a long and colourful history of #ikeahacking between them, the notion of designing a unique and stylish collection of doors, tops and sides to fit IKEA furniture frames was the ideal business concept for them to pour their passion and creativity into.
As the co-founders and creative directors of Fronteriors, Kath and Linda’s promise is to bring the latest interior trends to the market, including many contemporary finishes not yet seen in the hacking arena. What to expect? Expect the highest level of quality and attention to detail that two interior designers can bring to the market.
